The Government of Osun State has declared a two-day curfew in entire Ile-Ife City.
This followed a clash between the Hausa and Yoruba communities in the town.
The clash left no fewer than five persons dead.
A statement by the State Government on Wednesday said the curfew was “compelled by the breach of the peace in the area which has led to avoidable destruction of lives and properties”.
The curfew, which will be between 6pm and 7am, will be in force till Friday and it is with immediate effect.
The mayhem was reported to have been sparked by a disagreement between the two rival communities.
Soldiers and policemen have been drafted to the area.
