Olugbenga Ogunbote, the Technical Adviser of Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, says the club is almost ready for the forthcoming 2017/2018 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
The club’s Media Officer, Norbert Okolie, in a statement on Thursday in Enugu, quoted the coach as saying his expectations from the players have almost been met completely.
Rangers had on Wednesday thrashed a Lagos-based clubside, Rising Stars FC, 6-0 at the Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode.
The club had tested another set of players outside the ones used in their first two pre-season matches.
Ogunbote said: “I must say that we are almost there, with regards to what is expected of club as the season approaches.
“We have strong belief that before the start of the season, all that is expected of us shall be in place.”
Goals from Tayo Fabiyi, Chidera Eze and Abu Azeez, who scored a brace, had shot the Enugu side to a 4-0 lead before the interval during the friendly.
Ayogu Ekechukwu and Kelvin Itoya scored after the interval to complete the 6-0 mauling of the amateur side from Lagos.
