NUC accredits 11 of LASU’s academic programmes

‎The National Universities Commission has accredited 11 out of 20 postgraduate and undergraduate academic programmes of the Lagos State University.
This was contained in the institution’s official bulletin released on Wednesday in Lagos.
According to the bulletin, the NUC carried out the exercise in October 2014 and June 2015.
It said the result of the accreditation was conveyed to the university by the NUC.
The bulletin said the Commission had granted Law, Accounting, Banking and Finance, Theatre Art, Music, Physiology, ‎Physical and Health Education full accreditation.
It said terminal and academic masters of Business Administration, Human Resources and Personnel Management and Public Administration were also accredited, while Masters of Public Administration was not accredited.
It added that at the undergraduate level, Business Administration, English, French, Philosophy and Yoruba were denied accreditation.
The bulletin also stated that Insurance, Electronics, Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering were placed at interim.
The commission also fixed the maturity for the review of the courses ‎at 2017 and 2020 respectively, the bulletin further stated.
