The Nasarawa State Police Command has refuted viral reports that two pupils of St. Peter’s Academy, Rukubi, Doma Local Government Area of the state were abducted.
The command’s spokesperson and a Superintendent of Police, SP Rahman Nansel, said this in a statement following the alarm.
In the statement on Friday, Nansel said the alarm, raised earlier in the day, was found to be false.

He said police and military operatives deployed to the school discovered that the pupils had merely fled after sighting hunters carrying dane guns, mistaking them for kidnappers.
He said the public should disregard the rumour, while media organisations were urged to verify information before publication to avoid misleading the public.
