The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, on Thursday came under fire in the Senate over statements credited to him on the 2017 Budget
Fashola had criticised the National Assembly for inserting projects outside the purview of his ministry in its budget in the 2017 Appropriation Act.
However, in a reaction to the statement credited to the Minister, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation, Senator Danjuma Goje, lambasted him.
Goje said the Minister should know this is the National Assembly of Federal Republic of Nigeria not the Lagos State House of Assembly.
He added that the Fashola should do the needful if he thinks the job is too much for him to do.
In his remarks, the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, said those in position of authority should look at issues from nationalistic points of view.
Saraki submitted that the Senate will wait for the conclusion of the House of Representatives summon on the issue before taking further action.
The House had last week summoned Fashola over the same issue.
