The people of Kwara State and Nigerians have again been charged to be vigilant and make the security of lives and property their priorities.
A traditional ruler in Kwara State, Oba Joshua Adeyemi Adimula, gave the charge while condoling with the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye, and the people of Offa over the sad armed robbery attack in the town.
The attack left no fewer than 17 persons, including nine policemen, dead.
Oba Adimula, who is the Owa Oloota of Odo Owa in Oke Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State, expressed dismay on the ugly incident and prayed God to grant the victims quick recovery and the families of those that died the fortitude to bear the loss.
The Royal Father commended the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki; the State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed; and security agents for their quick response, which he said was germane and led to the arrest of some of the perpetrators.
He advised the people to always report suspicious people to security agents to forestal such incident in future.
Oba Adimula used the opportunity to announce that this year’s Oba I o de ja traditional festival comes up on Thursday at Ereja Market Square beginning at 9am.
At the festival, prayer would be offered for the well being and progress of people of the town, the State and the Nation in general.
The Owa Oloota of Odo Owa also said the Ogu Oba festival would be held on April 27 at Oke-Uro Yard, Odo Owa.
