The Kano State Police Command has confirmed that one person died in the explosion that occurred in Kano this morning.
Three loud explosions were heard around Sharada Police Station this morning as earlier reported.
The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Idris, who confirmed the attack, said that one person was shot dead by the Joint Task Force in an offensive by the security outfit.
Idris said this was after intelligence gathered had revealed that those who were to carry out the attack were hiding in the Sharada area.
He said that four persons – three women and a child – were arrested by the JTF.
The belief of the police boss is that those arrested are family members of the attackers.
According to Idris, over 4,000 rounds of Iive ammunition meant for AK 47 rifles, six drums of explosives and other dangerous weapons were recovered by the JTF.
