Adesua Etomi-Wellington has reflected on her marriage to Banky W, revealing that she had initially prayed against marrying a musician, a pastor, or a politician.
The popular Nigerian actress shared that despite her specific “requirements,” she ended up with a man who embodies all three roles.
Mrs Wellington shared this in a recent interview with Teju Babyface and her husband.
According to her, Banky W was not initially her ideal partner because of his career paths, but she eventually accepted him as her husband, attributing the relationship to divine direction.
“Before I met my husband, I told God I didn’t want to marry a musician, a pastor or a politician, but God gave me all three,” she said.
She added their love has continued to grow nearly a decade after they first got together.
Banky W also shared a similar sentiment, noting that he had also prayed for a wife with a “normal” job in industries like oil and gas, and specifically wanted to avoid marrying an entertainer.
He said Adesua initially turned him down several times before later confirming that he was her husband.

He explained that he had known she was his wife for about a year and a half, but waited for her to reach the same conclusion.
He said, “Adesua called me on the phone one day and said, Banky, you know you’re my husband, right?”
The singer added that her confirmation strengthened his conviction, and they eventually got married.
The couple tied the knot in 2017 and have since welcomed two children.
