Top members of the Movement for Credible Elections (MCE), including Femi Falana, Falana, Usman Bugaje, Prof. Pat Utomi, Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), and Oby Ezekwesili are to storm the National Assembly on Tuesday (today) over the Electoral Act.
Media Coordinator of the MCE, Comrade James Ezema, made this known in a statement he issued to newsmen on Monday.
The protest by the MCE, a coalition of leaders of the organised civil society and labour movement, will commence at 10am.
It is to escalate its ongoing protests on electoral reforms with a strategic world media interaction at the National Assembly.
The coalition said the action is aimed at intensifying civic pressure on the legislature to adopt comprehensive popular electoral reforms as demanded by Nigerians and outlined in MCE’s public petition submitted to the National Assembly last month.
The Head of the MCE National Secretariat and a veteran political activist, Comrade Olawale Okunniyi, stated that the media rally represents a continuation of peaceful democratic engagement to ensure that electoral laws reflect the genuine will of the Nigerian people ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Okunniyi emphasised that credible elections remain fundamental to strengthening democracy, promoting political accountability and restoring public confidence in governance.

He added that the MCE and its partners will sustain nationwide mass mobilisation until meaningful electoral reforms are achieved.
Expected to address the media rally are Dr. Usman Bugaje, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, Dr. Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), Prof. Pat Utomi, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, Femi Falana (SAN), Prince Adewole Adebayo, Comrade Joe Ajaero, Senator Shehu Sanni, Hadjia Bilikisu Magoro, Comrade Ene Obi, Alhaji Shettima Yerima, Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, Comrade Promise Adewusi, Engr. Bala Zakka, Ambassador Nkoyo Toyo, Dr. Sam Amadi, Comrade Malachy Ugwummadu, and Peter Randy Akah among other leaders
The MCE reiterated its commitment to peaceful civic mass activism and called on Nigerians to support efforts aimed at securing credible and transparent elections in 2027.
