Chief Diekivie Ikiogha, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Yenagoa, has been transferred to head the Bayelsa Liaison Office, Abuja.
A statement issued by Daniel Iworiso-Markson, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seriake Dickson, said in Yenagoa on Tuesday that the transfer was approved by the governor.
The statement explained that the transfer was necessitated by the increasing engagements of the governor in Abuja.
The statement said: “His Excellency, Governor Seriake Dickson expresses confidence in the ability of Chief Ikiogha to transform the liaison office to match its new status.
“And this is based on his wealth of experience as a politician and public servant.”
It said that the strategic nature of the governor’s engagements in the Federal Capital Territory compelled him to approve the upgrade of the liaison office with immediate effect.
The statement also announced the appointment of Didi Walson-Jack as the new Chief of Staff, replacing Ikiogha.
“His Excellency is confident that her rich civil service background will stand her in good stead in effectively repositioning the administration of the government house,” it stated.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Walson-Jack was until her appointment the Commissioner for Science and Technology and that of Manpower Development in the state respectively.
The statement said the appointment and transfer took immediate effect.
