Delta to develop wildlife park

The Delta State Government on Monday said it had concluded plans to develop a wildlife park in the state.
The Commissioner in charge of Delta State Directorate of Culture and Tourism, Richard Mofe-Damijo, stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in Lagos.
Mofe-Damijo said that the wildlife park would be sited at Ogwashi-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, the park, covering over 150 hectares of land would feature wildlife sanctuary for gorillas, tigers, monkeys, elephants, and other animals.
Mofe-Damijo said that other projects to be developed on the land would be adventure park, hotels and animal village.
He said that the park would boost the tourism potential of the state.
He said: “The state government is committed to the development of infrastructure.
“Effort is ongoing to transform Asaba, the state capital, to a city of the future, with several tourism projects under construction in the state.”
