The management of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti on Monday said four of its Engineering programmes had been given full accreditation by the Council for Regulations of Engineering in Nigeria.
The Deputy Director, Corporate Services of the university, Ademuyiwa Adeyinka, said this in a statement.
He said the accredited programmes were Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.
He said COREN Registrar, Prof. Joseph Odigure, had communicated the university authority on the achievement.
Adeyinka said full accreditation was given to the university because of the high standard of its facilities and the capability of the personnel in the Faculty of Engineering of the university.
He said: “I wish to notify parents, students and the newsmen that four Engineering programmes of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) have been given full accreditation by COREN.
“The accredited Engineering programmes are Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.
“We are also glad to inform you that the facilities for these programmes are available and our personnel are well equipped with good teaching skills to teach the students who wish to become renowned engineers in future.”
The deputy director charged the engineering students of the university in Ikole-Ekiti campus to be hardworking and make good use of the facilities provided for them.
