The leadership of the National Assembly has begun a closed door meeting with the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
The close door meeting, which was ongoing at press time, began at about 1:45pm.
The meeting was earlier scheduled for Tuesday.
It however could not hold because of the invasion of the National Assembly by operatives of the Department of State Services, who prevented anyone, including lawmakers and staff, from entering.
At the head of the National Assembly delegation to the closed door meeting with the INEC Chairman are the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara.
The main point of discussion will be the supplementary budget submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari to the National Assembly for consideration for the 2019 election.
Buhari had proposed N242 billion for the election, with INEC, the DSS and other security agencies getting the bulk of it.
