Members of the dreaded sect, Boko Haram, on Wednesday killed at least seven persons in a crowded market in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Known as the Monday Market, the Boko Haram members were reported to have arrived there at about 1:30pm, shooting indiscriminately.
Among those shot was a man who sells electronics in the market, said to be from the South East.
The members of the dreaded sect also shot dead another Igbo trader who sells spare parts in a separate incident.
The spokesman of the Joint Task Force, Lt. Col. Sagir Musa, said only one person was killed.
But the spokesman of the Borno State Police Command, Samuel Tizhe, confirmed the death of seven persons.
