John Okafor, popularly called Mr Ibu, is known for his empathy towards the downtrodden members of the society.
However, in recent times, the actor seems to have gone out of the scene unlike his colleagues who gave out foodstuffs and other items to people who were badly affected by the lockdown.
In a chat with The Eagle Online, the comic actor explained why he has been out of the scene.
He said: “There is no good thing that has happened since this pandemic because I was sick and just recuperating.”
When asked about how he was coping with the Coronavirus Disease pandemic, the comic actor said: “I don’t know what it is and I would never know it.
“However, professionally, I wouldn’t say it is that bad because I believe that God will create a way for us soon.”
On whether he has been tested for COVID-19, Mr Ibu said: “I have done several COVID-19 tests, which came out negative.
“However, when I went for the tests, I went alone so that if the result was positive, I won’t infect anyone.”
Meanwhile, the actor said the Big Brother Naija show is a breath of fresh air from the bad news constantly on television.
He said: “For me, the Big Brother Nigeria show is okay because everything we watch on television seem to be bad news.
“So, no matter how the show is, it has been keeping us busy.
“However, if there is something I am not cool with, I will still voice out my opinion.”
