Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has extended his heartfelt condolences to his colleague and Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, over the death of his mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi, and his son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.
Abdulwahab lost his life in a car accident on Thursday, while Hajiya Maryam passed away on Wednesday following an illness.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia described the dual loss as a painful moment for not just the immediate family of Governor Namadi, but the entire people of Jigawa State and Nigeria as a whole.

He urges his colleague to take solace in the fact that it is God who giveth and God who taketh away.
While he prays to God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the painful demise of Hajiya Maryam and Abdulwahab Umar, the Governor equally prays to God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
