The Senior Staff Union in Colleges of Education, Nigeria has commenced a seven-day warning strike to demand for the implementation of the CONTEDISS salary structure in some state colleges.
This information was contained in a statement signed by the National President of the union, Mohammed Sani, and National Secretary, Ajayi Oluwole, in Zaria, Kaduna State, on Tuesday.
The statement stated that the nationwide warning strike, which started on January 6, was to protest the non-implementation of 65 years retirement age for non-teaching staff.
The others are non-implementation of sabbatical leave appointment for non-teaching staff by many colleges and non-approval/implementation of migration for officers on CONTENDISS 11 and below, among others.
The union said after the seven-day warning strike, the union would proceed on indefinite strike if its demands were not addressed.
