Sixty-three drivers out of sixty-eight arraigned were convicted at two Mobile Courts sittings in Eleme and Isiokpo in Rivers State last week.
According to information from the Federal Road Safety Corps, Senior Magistrate Collins Godfrey Ali at Eleme on March 5, 2013 convicted 37 drivers while two were discharged and acquitted.
On March 8, 2013, Magistrate Elkanah Enyindah Ogeh at Isiokpo convicted 26 out of the 29 drivers tried.
Three were discharged and acquitted.
They were sentenced to between one and three months imprisonment.
However, they were given options of fines, the FRSC said.
The fines ranged between N1,000 and N10,000.
