The Committee in its 6th meeting held at the Ibadan headquarters of MUSWEN on Sunday May 8, 2022 had an overview of the goings-on in the Nigerian political setting and resolved on them.
The Executive Secretary of the group, Prof. Muslih T. Yahya in a press statement noted
as the vicegerent of Allah on Earth are the agents of good change, Muslims should be keen on how the state is being governed.
Following this, MSWEN charged Muslims, particularly, of the South West of Nigeria, to show more interest in politics and endeavour to participate more actively in the ongoing democratic process by getting their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) ready for the coming elections.
“Based d on our above observations, MUSWEN here encourages Muslims to participate actively in the political process leading to the 2023 General Elections by: Ensuring that everyone of voting age obtains their Voters Cards promptly; Joining and participating in the activities of various Political Parties.
Accepting nominations for Political Offices; Support the ambition of qualified fellow Muslims to attain Political Positions; Voting individuals of proven integrity into Political Offices” the group stated.
MUSWEN prayed to Allah to guide Nigerians to elect leaders who would lead the nation in the most beneficial ways for the masses and most pleasing to our Creator.
