Three persons have been confirmed dead in the building that collapsed within the premises of the Synagogue Church of All Nations at Ikotun, a suburb of Lagos State.
This is even has more facts emerged on why the building suddenly collapsed.
According to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the collapsed building was originally built as two-storey but later raised to five.
It was in the process of raising it to an eight-storey building that it collapsed, leaving three dead and many injured.
Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, spokesman for NEMA said in a text message, “The building was originally two-storey raised to five.
“The additional three was being constructed when it collapsed around 1.00p.m Friday afternoon. “The church members have been very aggressive and tried attacking emergency responders.
“Before emergency responders’ arrival, about 15 are said to have being rescued alive and three dead.
“Rescuers have rescued three and three dead. Many are said to be trapped still”.
