Secondus made the call on Tuesday in Abuja at the opening of a two-day retreat for the National Working Committee and Chairmen of the PDP in the states.
In the suit filed on his behalf by Rickey Tarfa & Co, Adedoja prayed the court to declare the election of Secondus as national chairman of the PDP null and void
Secondus stated this on Monday in Abuja at the handover of the party leadership by Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee to the new national leadership of the party elected at Saturday’s national convention.
The advice was contained in a congratulatory message sent to Secondus by the Chairman of Ogun State chapter of the party, Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele.
He described Secondus as eminently qualified for the enormous responsibility having served the party in various capacities, which have prepared him with the requisite experience and skills for the task.
Dokpesi, who had earlier faulted the process of the party’s National Convention held in Abuja on Saturday, declared that “the delegates have spoken”.
A statement by the Media Office of the former Vice President congratulating Prince Uche Secondus as the new National Chairman of the PDP and other elected officials, said the immediate challenge before the newly-elected national officials is to run an all-inclusive administration where the various interests within the party can find accommodation.
While Secondus scored 2,000 votes out of the 2,396 votes cast at the convention, his closest rival and former Minister of Education, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, scored 230 votes and High Chief Raymond Dokpesi polled 66 votes.
Secondus said President Muhammadu Buhari, who came into power in 2015, is a “brief” tenant in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, and that his tenancy will expire on May 28, 2019.
