In a statement on Thursday, the Chairman of ALTON, Gbenga Adebayo, said the surge in attacks on telecommunications facilities could lead to a nationwide network collapse if not urgently addressed.
This was made known in a statement signed by Mr Gbenga Adebayo, the Chairman, Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), and the Publicity Secretary, Mr Damian Udeh.
The Eagle Online is reporting that the NLC and some of its affiliate unions are planning a nationwide protest scheduled for February 4.
The directive was made public in a statement by the NCC’s Director of Public Affairs, Dr. Reuben Muoka, on Monday.
According to NCC, the move aims to provide clear, easy-to-understand, and accurate information about the cost of voice, short messaging service, SMS, and data services to subscribers.
Recall that a nationwide protest is slated to commence on August 1 to draw attention to the country’s economic challenges and demand improved living conditions.
