The Executive Secretary of TETFund, Prof. Suleiman Elias Bogoro, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Kashim Ibrahim Imam, both gave the commendation at an event in Abuja to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the federal government agency established in 2011 to disburse, manage, and monitor education tax to government-owned tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

“The donations are aimed at strengthening advanced practical teaching and research in subsea engineering to give the students the required skills and competences for entry level jobs in the oil and gas industry,” Managing Director, Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo),  Elohor Aiboni, said last Thursday at a ceremony to hand over facilities to the university.

The donation from Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo), on behalf of itself, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and other co-venture partners, is part of SNEPCo’s intervention to improve child health care and cater for non-COVID-19 cases in the state hospitals.

Speaking in Lagos last week at the closing ceremony for the exiting participants, SNEPCo’s Managing Director, Bayo Ojulari, described the training initiative as critical in preparing young Nigerian graduates for the evolving workplace technology and to give them industry exposure and certification in selected SAP modules.

Nigeria’s foremost deep-water oil and gas company, Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited, paid N366 billion in 2018 as revenue to the Federal Government of Nigeria from its exploration activities, while it made another N2.1 billion as statutory payment to the Niger Delta Development Commission, SNEPCo’s Managing Director, Bayo Ojulari, has said.
