Governor Otu made the declaration while speaking at the All Progressives Congress South-South Stakeholders meeting in Benin City on Saturday.
The State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Erasmus Ekpang, gave the assurance during an interactive session with journalists of Cross River origin under the aegis of the Cross River State Journalists Forum (CROSSJOF), held in Abuja on Wednesday.
Speaking during the signing ceremony on Tuesday in Calabar, Otu commended the legislature for its dedication and responsiveness over the past two years, adding that the laws reflect his administration’s push to modernise state governance and address pressing developmental needs.
In a press release on Tuesday issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nsa Gill, Governor Otu conveyed his shock at the news, which came just a day after he met with a delegation from the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF).
The governor said his administration remained committed to the implementation of the new wage of N70, 000 recently signed into law by President Bola Tinubu.
The council believes the governor has flouted the Supreme Court judgment by supporting the sacked monarch.
The development came following a press release by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the state governor, Emmanuel Ogbeche, on November 7, recognising Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V as the Obong of Calabar.
