The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to declare state of emergency to tackle insecurity, especially kidnapping, terrorism, armed robbery and banditry, in the country.

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs has commended the Lagos state Government for approving the use of Hijab in public schools in the state.
The group stated this in a statement signed by the deputy secretary general, Prof. Salisu Shehu,lamenting the atrocities of the group and stressing that it was worrisome the way the group is going about its activities describing its actions as “ lawless and defiant”
