The IPMAN Kano Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Bashir Dan-Malam, made the remark while speaking with newsmen in Kano on Saturday, as the prices of the product jumped from N145 to between N180 and N200 per litre.

The secretary said the Committee would also checkmate unwholesome practices by persons who hoard or divert products to neighbouring African countries

He said there was the urgent need for the Federal Government to reposition the two organisations in view of their significant roles in the petroleum sector of the economy
He also said the Aba Depot, which was reopened in 2013, had not served maximally, stressing that loading of products had not been regular
Ahmed said this had become necessary as majority of the private depots in Apapa were taking undue advantage of the closure of the western loading depots to sell petrol to marketers between N82 and N84 per litre against N77.66k.
