Umahi issued the directive on Tuesday during an emergency meeting with senior officials of the ministry and contractors handling major federal road projects in Abuja.

During Tuesday’s inspection of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway, he said the Federal Government had adopted new engineering standards and technologies to ensure Nigerian roads last 50 to 100 years without major repairs.
The former two-term governor of Ebonyi State gave the warning on Monday in a meeting with traditional rulers and members of the community.
Umahi said he was not surprised that the judge delivered the judgement in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party, adding, “Ekwo was charged and needed to discharge.”
In a Communiqué read by Chairman of the South East Governors’ Forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi, the leaders stated that “EBUBEAGU will work with the Police and other security agencies in her operations to protect lives and property in South East”.
Speaking to Ebonyi State youths on Wednesday at the event marking the end of a one-week Ebonyi #ndSARS Youth summit held at the Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki, Umahi and Nwankwo revealed how difficult it was for their families to afford decent meals in the past.
The meeting, on Sunday, at the instance of Umahi, was a private dinner, which was ongoing as at press time.
