In a statement on Tuesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Dr. Muyideen Akorede, the governor said he; the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki; and other political leaders in Kwara State have no reason to return to the PDP or join any other political party unless they are asked to do so by their supporters

Governor Ahmed said having received reports from the security agencies of their readiness to provide security before, during and after the election, he is confident that it will be held in a peaceful and orderly atmosphere.

Governor Ahmed, who spoke through a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Dr. Muyideen Akorede, said Kwara State has recorded visible progress since 2003 as his administration and that of former Governor Bukola Saraki have elevated the State and its people despite spending the bulk of federal allocations on salaries and pensions.

Akorede explained that the proposal is just one of the several strategies the State Government is considering, including staff verification exercise and improved internally generated revenue, to resolve the salary crises at the local government level

A statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Dr. Muyideen Akorede, quoted Ahmed as saying that the funds were released after the recent verification of the state’s outstanding capital projects and was based on authenticated and duly certified stage of completion of works on each project
