Dorcas Adesokan, Nigeria’s top-seeded badminton player, has expressed delight that she was able to reach the podium at the just-concluded 4th Lagos International Badminton Classics.

Presenting the cheque on Tuesday in Abeokuta, the governor, represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Afolabi Afuape, said the money was meant to boost Adesokan’s career and encourage her.

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Afolabi Afuape, who made the disclosure on Friday in Abeokuta, said the job offer was to appreciate Adesokan for making the state and Nigeria proud in the game.

Orbih, who gave the hint in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos, said that Adesokan would embark on the tour at a yet-to-be announced date, as part of preparations for the Tokyo Olympics programme.
