The Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), Osun State Branch has inaugurated the Editorial Team of its official newsletter, Osun Management Connect (OSMC).
It is a part of strategic efforts to strengthen communication, promote professional development, and enhance member engagement.
The inauguration ceremony, held virtually on April 30, 2026, brought together members of the Institute and key stakeholders in what has been widely described as a landmark initiative for the Branch.
Delivering the opening remarks, the Chairman of the Editorial Advisory Board, Sanya Olopade, a past Branch Chairman and former Zonal Chairman of the Institute, described the initiative as a strategic and forward-looking intervention.
Olopade expressed appreciation to the Branch Executive Committee for the confidence reposed in the Editorial Team, noting that the assignment represents both an honour and a responsibility.
He emphasised that the newsletter would serve as the “voice of the Branch”, projecting its activities, celebrating achievements, and reinforcing the relevance of management professionals in Osun State and beyond.
He charged members of the Editorial Team to demonstrate professionalism, creativity, and commitment, stressing that the success of the publication would depend on their collective dedication.
He further urged members to be innovative, consistent, and excellence-driven in delivering a publication that informs, inspires, and builds lasting institutional legacy.

Earlier in the programme, the Branch Chairman and Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Olu Olujide, presented the project brief, describing Osun Management Connect as a strategic initiative designed to strengthen institutional communication, promote knowledge sharing, enhance member engagement, and preserve the Branch’s institutional memory.
Olujide disclosed that the publication would operate on a quarterly basis, featuring updates from the national headquarters, branch programmes, chapter activities, management insights, and member achievements.
He further announced that the inaugural edition is scheduled for release on July 1, 2026.
According to him, OSMC was conceived to strengthen information flow within the Branch, keep members informed of developments, promote engagement between members and leadership, strengthen professional identity, and showcase members’ achievements and social interactions.
He added that the objectives of the newsletter include disseminating timely updates on branch activities, sharing information from the national body, promoting management knowledge and professional development, encouraging member participation, highlighting milestones, and strengthening connectivity across chapters.
The keynote address, titled: “Driving Successful Newsletter Implementation Through Capacity, Commitment, and Volunteer Service,” was delivered by media expert and member of the Editorial Advisory Board, Jimoh Babatunde.
In his address, Babatunde underscored the importance of professionalism, credibility, and consistency in editorial practice, while emphasising the critical role of capacity building, dedication, and selfless service in sustaining such initiatives.
He commended the leadership of the Branch for the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful, and advised the Editorial Team to uphold high editorial standards, ensure factual accuracy, embrace innovation in content delivery, and leverage digital platforms effectively.
In his concluding remarks, he issued a strong charge to the Editorial Team, emphasising that capacity, commitment, and volunteer service remain the pillars for the success of the initiative.
He noted that while capacity would define their ability, commitment would sustain their efforts, and volunteer service would give meaning to their work.
He further encouraged the team to rise to the challenge, deliver excellence, and build a platform that would outlive them, stressing that with collective dedication, Osun Management Connect would evolve beyond a newsletter into a credible, impactful, and enduring legacy platform.
The formal inauguration and administration of the Oath of Commitment were conducted by Olatunde Bello, Immediate Past Branch Chairman and Zonal Vice Chairman, who charged members of the Editorial Team to uphold professionalism and remain committed to the objectives of the initiative.
In his goodwill message, Dr. Kehinde Abiola, a member of the Editorial Advisory Board, commended the Branch for the laudable initiative and assured the Editorial Team of his full support.
Abiola further urged the team to ensure quality service delivery and uphold the highest standards in their editorial responsibilities.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Managing Editor, Abayomi Awoniyi, who expressed appreciation to the Branch Executive Committee for the opportunity to serve.
He also thanked members of the Editorial Advisory Board for their readiness to provide guidance and support, and commended the keynote speaker for a highly insightful presentation which enriched participants’ understanding of editorial practice.
Awoniyi further appreciated members of the Editorial Team for their commitment and willingness to serve, expressing confidence in their collective ability to deliver a high-quality and impactful publication.
The inauguration also highlighted the inclusive composition of both the Editorial Team and the Advisory Board, with representation from all chapters of the Institute in Osun State, including Ilesa, Ife, Ede, and Osogbo.
With the launch of Osun Management Connect, the Osun State Branch of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) is poised to enhance communication, strengthen professional engagement, and position itself as a model for other branches nationwide.
