The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, announced this on Monday.

This is not just for the saying! Perhaps this is what President Muhammadu Buhari would be saying today when he turns around to see the giant strides of his administration within the short period he has had Sylva as the “alternate Minister” in the petroleum ministry.

Speaking during a courtesy call on him by Niger Delta All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Vanguard, at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Towers, Abuja, on Thursday, Chief Sylva said development can only come to the region in an atmosphere of peace.

The Minister, who disclosed this in Abuja at a News Agency of Nigeria Forum, said the country could discover an additional 600 trillion cubic feet reserve to enable it achieve the desired development required of a gas nation.

Speaking at the maiden edition of the African Local Content Roundtable, at the Nigerian Content Tower, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, on Thursday, Sylva said through implementation of local content, Nigeria has been able to achieve significant progress in value addition, adding that Nigeria plans to achieve 70% local content compliance in the next six years.

A statement by the Special Assistant on Media and Public Affairs to the Minister, Julius Bokoru, on Wednesday said Sylva gave the assurance when he received David Adeleke, also known as Davido.

Osinbajo stated this on Tuesday in an address delivered virtually at a National Summit on the Integration of Artisanal and Modular Refinery Operations in Nigeria.

Speaking at the official launch of the Nigerian Upstream Cost Optimisation Program on Tuesday, Sylva said that there is no provision of subsidy in the 2021 budget, and Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, can not continue to bear the cost of under-recovery.

Chief Timipre Sylva, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, made the declaration on Thursday at the Seventh (Virtual) Joint International Energy Forum and International Gas Union Ministerial Gas Forum in Malaysia.

Sylva made the disclosure while answering questions from newsmen at the rollout of the National Gas Expansion Programme in Abuja on Tuesday.

Sylva disclosed this at the inuaguration of the programme by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Tuesday.

Sylva gave the assurances at the committee rally for the Bayelsa West Senatorial District candidate Ebebi in Yenagoa.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Osinbajo made the declaration at the opening of the 38th Annual International Conference of the National Association of Petroleum Explorationists.

The NNPC’s Group Managing Director, Malam Mele Kyari, made the disclosure on Tuesday during a Nigerian Stock Exchange oil and gas webinar with  theme as: “Perspectives of Operations and Industry Experts Post- COVID-19”.

Sylva disclosed this in a statement by the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency in Abuja on Thursday.
