Tinubu said this at the public presentation of the Akande’s autobiography, titled, “My Participations” on Thursday in Lagos.
Speaking at the public presentation of ‘‘My Participations,” the autobiography of Chief Bisi Akande, the President said the author has retained his ‘‘inflexible integrity,” in and out of public office, never accepting or offering bribes.
They also renewed the call for true federalism, where more power and resources are allocated to the states, as an essential part in strengthening society and improving democratic governance.
The event was attended by the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC leader, Chief Bisi Akande, members of Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), State cabinet members, Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, and members of business community, led by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, among others.
Both leaders agreed that unity among major political leaders and players in the region cannot be overemphasised, especially as the country marches towards the 2023 elections.
Chief Bisi Akande, the first National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, on February 3, 2021, while revalidating his membership of the party, was reported to have remarked that “a Caretaker Executive Committee for a political party is an abnormality. If not carefully controlled and expeditiously managed, most aberrant authorities end up in contempt and disgrace. For this reason, I want to urge APC Caretaker Executive Committee to resist the temptations of sit-tight syndromes.”
Lawan, in a statement by his Media Office, rejoiced with family, friends and political associates of the former governor and first interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress as they celebrate the joyous occasion.
Kalu, while acknowledging the contributions of the former Governor of Osun State to the social, economic and political development of Nigeria, called on the political class to emulate the exemplary leadership qualities of Chief Akande.
The party described the octogenarian and former governor of Osun as a grassroots politician and staunch advocate of progressive politics and governance.

Oshiomhole, who emerged chairman of the party at the National Convention in Abuja, stated this in his acceptance speech at the Eagle Square, venue of the convention.
It also emerged that the relationship of the All Progressives Congress National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with the governor remains strong and cordial, thus giving some forces outside the state cause for anxiety

The Minister said in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday that contrary to misleading media reports and social media posts purporting that he walked out of the meeting, he only left the venue, like other attendees, at the end of the meeting
The meeting was held at the old State House, Marina, Lagos
The party’s financial record was said to have breached all known rules, with personalization of party funds in “the most opaque manner” as the hallmark
Odigie-Oyegun, who fielded questions from State House correspondents on the outcome of the meeting, which was chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, said the meeting discussed the party’s report on true federalism
