Oyebanji sent the congratulatory message in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, on Thursday.

The motion was moved in Ado-Ekiti on Monday by the Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele and seconded by the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Stephen Aribasoye.

Governor Oyebanji gave the commendation on Saturday at his Ikogosi Ward 6, while participating in the ward Congress that produced delegates for the party primary slated for Monday. 

The governor said on Friday he was not oblivious of the inherent danger in undue politicisation of the service, adding that it breeds mediocrity that has the capacity to undermine the credibility and potency of workers to deliver optimally. 

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, Duro Meseko, disclosed this when he addressed newsmen in Abuja on Thursday

Reflecting on the journey since it was created on 1st October, 1996, the Governor noted that God has been kind to Ekiti judging by the notable landmarks recorded in infrastructure, health, education, economy and social development.

He said this is in line with his administration’s vision to upgrade road infrastructure as part of efforts to enhance socioeconomic development.

He further explained that the union leaders have shown greater understanding for his administration because of its openness, transparency, and accountability.

Governor Oyebanji stated this on Tuesday, when he received the management team of the First Bank Plc led by the Managing Director/CEO, Olusegun Alebiosu in his office, in Ado-Ekiti.

The Governor assured the citizens of Ekiti that his administration is determined to protect the state and work hard to prevent breakdown of law and order in the build-up to the governorship primaries in October this year and the main election in June 2026.

Barely three weeks after that admonition, individuals apparently motivated by political interest are afield, spewing reckless lies with the sole aim of damaging the character of opponents to reap political capital. 

Speaking at the 2025 Udiroko Festival in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday, Governor Oyebanji expressed displeasure at the narrative that the Federal Government has abandoned Ekiti State in view of the deplorable state of the Ado-Aramoko-Itawure road.

Governor Oyebanji, in a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, described Mrs. Yilwatda as a loving mother and a champion of good causes, whose death would leave a void that would be difficult to fill. 

The development was contained in a statement made available to the media by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Olayinka Oyebode, on Saturday.

‎Oyebanji spoke at the final funeral service held for the deceased at St John’s Military Church, Bonny Cantonment, Victoria Island, Lagos on Saturday. 

Since 2003, when a few maverick politicians supported former President Olusegun Obasanjo to thwart the Afenifere political  ascendancy and succession politics and legacy in the South West, thereby inadvertently paving the way  for former Governor, then his major choice, Mr. Peter  Ayodele Fayose, who came out of the blues to clinch the governorship seat in Ekiti State without a whimper, the contest for power at the governorship and other levels for that matter has always been everybody’s affair, a do or die, make or mar kind of  phenomenon.

Igbalajobi, a professor of Special Education died on June 8, 2025.

Governor Oyebanji gave the directive on Thursday during a meeting with the market women at the palace of the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe.
