He made the remarks on Sunday when he received members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Sokoto State Council.

The late monarch, who retired as a Brigadier General from the Nigerian Army in 1999, died in the early hours of November 24, 2025. 

The condolence message of the Sultan of Sokoto was contained in a message released by his Media Office on Monday.

Although the state government has denied such a move, not many watchers of the event are convinced by such claims.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, made the appeal in a statement by his Media Team on Sunday.

The SAN noted that “anytime Sultan of Sokoto visits anywhere in Oke-Ogun, Oyo State or South West, the guest house is his pe4manent house that he will use. When he lives, it will be locked until he comes again.”
