The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Musiliu Smith, has resigned from office.
His exit comes amid the face-off between the PSC and Police Management Team over recruitment of Constables.
Smith, a former Inspector General of Police, is expected to hand over to Retired Justice Clara Ogunbiyi, who is representing the Judiciary at the commission.
The PSC’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, confirmed the resignation of Smith.
Ani, who spoke with newsmen on the telephone, promised to issue a detailed statement on the development.
