Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 30-year-old suspect, Dare Shogaolu, popularly known as “Super M”, and recovered a locally made pistol during a stop-and-search operation in Mushin.
The suspect was arrested by operatives of the Anti-Crime Patrol Team of Mushin Division during a routine patrol along LUTH Road.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Ikeja, SP Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed this in a press statement released on Wednesday.
Adebisi said: “On 5th March 2026 at about 10:00pm, operatives of the Anti-Crime Patrol Team of Mushin Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), while on routine patrol along LUTH Road axis, Mushin, accosted a suspicious-looking man carrying a white and orange-yellow polythene bag.”
She added that a search conducted on the bag led to the recovery of a locally made pistol.
Adebisi said: “Other items recovered from him include one black leather purse, charms, and three pairs of slippers.”

According to the statement, preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had allegedly been involved in criminal activities within the area and had been responsible for disturbances in the community.
Adebisi said: “The suspect is currently in Police custody while investigation is ongoing. Efforts are also being intensified to apprehend other members of his criminal group.”
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, reiterated the command’s commitment to proactive policing and the safety of residents.
