The Oyo State Government has issued a seven-day ultimatum to occupants and owners of illegally erected kiosks, containers, shanties and business operations to vacate the roadsides or face the full wrath of the law.
Commissioner for the Environment and Natural Resources, Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, gave the ultimatum on Tuesday.
Mogbonjubola said this during his visit to Ojoo community in the Akinyele Local Government Area of the state.
He said: “Illegal operations should be halted, especially on the roadsides and drainages occupied by the individuals.
“And you must vacate this place in seven days.”

According to Mogbonjubola, the activities of the roadside traders have been constituting nuisance to public health.
He added: “The act has been causing unwarranted obstruction of free flow of traffic, passers by and vehicles contrary to the Environmental Sanitation Regulation, 2013.”
The Commissioner, therefore, advised the traders to relocate their business activities to more suitable places meant for them in the neighbourhood markets.
