Martins doubtful for US Open Cup

Seattle Sounders striker, Obafemi Martins, is doubtful for Wednesday’s US Open Cup clash against Portland Timbers due to hamstring injury.
Martins has not played since scoring a pair of goals as he was kicked out of the Sounders’ 3-2 win over the Chicago Fire on June 7.
Sounders head coach, Sigi Schmid, was far vaguer when asked to explain how serious the injury was.
Schmid said: “Now that is a bit more concerning.”
The gaffer however expects the Nigerian to be fit for Sunday’s regular-season rematch.
The 29-year-old is enjoying a MVP-calibre season with eight goals and six assists through the Sounders’ first 15 matches.
Martins is the only MLS player ranked in the Top 5 in both goals and assists.
The pant-sized striker was left out of the Super Eagles squad on the eve of Brazil 2014 World Cup.
