The Lagos State Government has refunded 145 subscribers to the Egan-Igando Mixed Housing Estate following their indication to opt out of the housing scheme.
The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Housing, Abdulhafis Toriola, confirmed this in a statement on Monday.
In the statement issued by Adesile Rufai, the Chief Public Affairs Officer, Ministry of Housing, Toriola said reasons for the delay was because the completion of the estate faced issues such as bureaucracy and vandalism.
He added those who previously subscribed and paid in full, but no longer interested in the house, could apply for a refund.
He said those who applied for a refund but were yet to be paid should visit the Ministry with their original payment documents.
He noted that a police report and a declaration of loss should be provided in the case of lost documents.
According to Toriola, the ministry is checking applications with questionable documents.
