The Lagos State Government has announced a traffic diversion plan for the 10th Edition of the Lagos Women Run scheduled to take place on November 8, 2025 from 6am.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, revealed the development in a statement he issued on Thursday.
Osiyemi said: “The 10-kilometre race, organised by the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) in partnership with other stakeholders, will take off from Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) and end at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.
“As a result, there will be partial road closure of TBS, Water Board, Old NITEL, Outer Marina, Officers Mess, Bonny Camp Bridge, State House, and Ahmadu Bello Way.
“Others are Akin Adesola Street, Falomo Bridge, Falomo Roundabout, Awolowo Road, Onikan Roundabout, and Mobolaji Johnson Arena.”

Osiyemi said that traffic officials from LASTMA, Police, Federal Road Safety Corps, and Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps would be on the ground to manage movement and ensure the safety of both participants and road users.
He advised motorists to use alternative routes provided during the race period.
He added: “Traffic from Ozumba Mbadiwe heading to Third Mainland Bridge is to go through Bonny Camp to Onikan Underpass to link Marina Exit to Force Road to connect Outer Marina to Third Mainland Bridge and continue their journeys.
“Motorists from Apongbon heading to Ikoyi are to use Odunlami Street to link Igbosere Road to Moloney Street to connect Ikoyi Road and continue their journeys.”
Osiyemi appealed to all motorists to exercise patience and obey traffic officials as the closures would be temporary.
