Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State has appointed Jibrin Ndace as his Chief Press Secretary.
Ndace replaces Dr. Ibrahim Dooba.
The state House of Assembly and the Nigeria Union of Journalists had asked that Dooba be sacked.
Ndace assumed office on Thursday and pledged to establish cordial working relationship with members of the press.
He said: “My appointment is an opportunity to contribute to the development of the state.
“I appeal to all members of the press to cooperate with me for a successful outing.”
Ndace is a graduate of English Language from the Bayero University, Kano and a pioneer staff of the Blueprint newspaper in Abuja.
He had a stint as a lecturer of Communication Skills at Kaduna Polytechnic before he joined the services of Bifocal Company, publishers of Market Magazine.
Ndace was the Defence Correspondent of the Blueprint until his new appointment.
