The Itori, Ogun Unit Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has warned motorists against flouting the traffic rules and regulations.
The Unit Commander, Shamaki Yerima, gave the warning while addressing motorists at the Tipper Garage and Complex Park, in commemoration of the 2022 West Africa Road Organization Day (WARSO) Monday in Itori, Ogun State, South Western Nigeria.
Yerima emphasized the need for Motorists to adhere strictly to traffic rules and regulations to stem road crashes in the state.
He said disobeying traffic rules and regulations had been the major causes of road crashes in the state.
The unit commander said the purpose of the command visiting the motor parks was to sensitize motorists to the need to be safety conscious on the road.
“We don’t want a crash, not to talk of bleeding on the road as it is not a delight for the Corps or the nation to be seeing blood on the road,” he said.
The unit commander said that was what informed the theme of the celebration as “Toward Zero bleeding on the road”.
Yerima enjoined motorists to adhere to traffic rules and regulations, to enable them to get to their various destinations safely.
He also cautioned them against dangerous driving, overloading, expired tyres and wrongful overtaking, among others.
