Members of the dreaded sect, Boko Haram, have killed no fewer than 24 soldiers and policemen in Yobe State, The Eagle Online can report.
The attack was carried out in Buni Yadi on Monday night, sources in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, told The Eagle Online.
It was gathered that the members of the dreaded sect, who came in their numbers in over 10 Hilux vans, poured into Buni Yadi at about 5pm and specifically targeted the security operatives.
Sources informed The Eagle Online that the Boko Haram members told the indigenes of the town not to panic as they had come specifically for the security operatives.
By the time they were leaving, no fewer than 10 soldiers and 14 policemen had been killed.
Buni Yadi is about 50km from Damaturu.
The Boko Haram members also razed the palace of the Emir of Buni Yadi.
No casualty was recorded on the side of the dreaded sect, The Eagle Online was informed.
