Nigeria’s Men basketball team, D’Tigers, walk a tight rope in their quest to qualify for next year’s FIBA World Cup following a narrow 70-67 points loss to Angola.
The Nigerian lads lost by 18-16, 9-13, 23-16 and 20-22 to the Angolans on Sunday in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
Nigeria now occupy the fourth place behind Cote D’Ivoire, Angola and Cape Verde.
The Mfon Udofia-tutored boys won one game against Guinea and have also lost two games to Cote D’Ivoire and Angola in the series.
Nigeria must ensure they make up the number when in another Second Round scheduled to hold in February 2023.
At the end of these additional six games per team, the two top teams in each group, along with the best third-placed team, will qualify to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.
