Arik signs N44.5b contract with Bombardier

Ola Adebanji, the Head of Public Communications, Arik Airlines, on Thursday disclosed that the airline had signed a contract with Bombardier Aerospace, Canada for the supply of new aircrafts.
Adebanji made the disclosure in a press statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos.
He said that the total sum of the contract was 297 million dollars (about N44.5 billion).
Adebanji said that Bombardier Aerospace would supply the airline with three CRJ 1000 NextGen aircrafts and four Q400 NextGen turboprop airliners.
“Based on the list price of the CRJ1000 NextGen and Q400 NextGen aircraft, the contract is valued at approximately 297 million dollars.
“Bombardier is evolving mobility worldwide by answering the call for more efficient, sustainable and enjoyable transportation everywhere.
“Our vehicles, services and most of all, our employees are what make us a global leader in transportation,’’ he said.
Adebanji said that Arik currently operates four CRJ900 aircrafts and two Q400 NextGen aircrafts.
