The University of Ghana has stated that it will investigate the actions of its lecturers, Prof. Ransford Gyampo and Dr. Paul Kwame, over allegations of involvement in #SexForGrades scandal.
A programme, BBC Africa Eye, had exposed lecturers in Nigeria and Ghana of involvement in sexual exploitation of their students.
The University of Ghana’s position was contained in a press release signed by the university’s Director of Public Affairs, Stella A. Amoa.
According to the Institution, the affected lecturers will be invited by Sexual Harassment Committee in the next few days to assist with further investigation into the BBC documentary.
The University said it will prosecute the present issue in addition to all outstanding cases before the Committee.
The University added that there will be no scared cow in the matter, stating it will not shield any employee or student found to have engaged in sexual harassment or misconduct.
This is coming a day after Gyampo announced that he will be suing BBC for defamation of character after the documentary showed him sexually harassing an undercover student.
He argued that his conversations about her breasts, sex and promises of marriage were devoid of ill intention.
