Enyimba International of Aba has dismissed report linking them with Ghanaian coach Maxwell Konadu who helped Ghana clinch the WAFU Cup.
Konadu lead Ghana to a 4-1 win over Nigeria, and reports from Ghana suggest talks over taking over the reins as coach of Enyimba are underway, but the club have now distanced themselves from the report.
A statement from the media group of the team dismissed the reports as false and also made it clear that the club is satisfied with the current Head Coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, hence the coaching position of the team is not open for application.
The release said: “The attention of the management of Enyimba Football Club has been drawn to a news story attributing to it interest in Ghana WAFU coach Maxwell Konadu. “
The club hereby distances itself from this rumour, as there has been no communication between Enyimba and Mr Konadu, let alone our officials flying out to Ghana for a meeting.”
