Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State has signed into law the state’s 2014 Budget of N128 billion.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the governor on Media, Jacob Edi, and made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Sunday.
It said the brief ceremony was attended by Wada’s deputy, Yomi Awoniyi; the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Jimoh Lawal; and other top government functionaries.
The statement quoted the governor as saying the budget would usher in massive project execution that would uplift the standard of living of the people.
The statement said the governor commended the assembly for the quick passage of the budget and solicited continued co-operation between the executive and the legislature.
It said the budget was made up of N79billion as recurrent expenditure while the balance of N49 billion was for capital expenditure.
