Rising from it first day of the 5th session of the Central Board Meeting in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire on Thursday Africa basketball ruling body, FIBA Africa has awarded Tunisia and Cameroon as host of the 28th Afrobasket for Men and 24th Afrobasket for Women.
With the hosting granted Tunisia on Thursday, it will make it the third time the North African and 2011 winner of the continent prestigious championship while Cameroon will be hosting her very first continental competition.
Meanwhile FIBA Africa has placed Angola on standby to stage any of the championship should any of Tunisia or Cameroon failed to meet up it hosting demands.
The Central Board also approves the granting of hosting rights to a number of countries for it 2014 programmes, with Madagascar and Mali hosting the Afrobasket U18 Men and Women.
In the club category Cote D’Ivoire will host the rest of Africa for the final round of the Africa Champions Cup for Men while Tunisia stages the women version.
