In posts on his social media handles, following his inauguration of the 2021 International Health Summit, organized by the Nigerian Medical Students Association (NiMSA) at Baze University, Saraki revealed that he became a medical doctor to follow in the footsteps of his father, the late Second Republic Majority Leader of the Senate, Senator Olusola Abubakar Saraki, who was fondly called ‘Oloye’ by his friends and supporters.

In a statement by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, in Abuja, Saraki described the death of the elder statesman as a personal loss to him and a colossal loss to the Ilorin Emirate, the Government and people of Kwara State and the entire country

The Senate president said though the ECOWAS parliament is evolving in the right direction, it was his fervent hope that members of the sub region will begin to invest in it more responsibility and opportunity as a sure path to creating the right structure for closer integration of the sub-region
